How many days in the Mekong Delta?

Our itineraries spend 1–2 nights in the Mekong Delta. Our day plans for the Mekong Delta fill 3 days — any longer and you are into slack days.
Day by day in the Mekong Delta
Day 1 · arrival
Van to Can Tho, arrive afternoon. Walk the riverfront, eat at a local spot.
Day 2
Pre-dawn boat from Ninh Kieu pier to Cai Rang floating market, then a smaller market and canal village. Back by late morning.
Day 3
A slower delta day: cycle the canal lanes, a fruit garden, lunch somewhere by the water.
Staying longer? Slack day — cover for rain or a late bus, a second visit to a favourite, or nothing at all. Itineraries without one are the ones that fail.
