- Foreign motorbike licenses are not legally valid in Vietnam for bikes over 50cc. Riding without a Vietnamese license voids all travel insurance, including emergency medical evacuation.
- Riding pillion with a licensed Easy Rider is the safer choice — you keep insurance coverage, and they know the road.
- Ma Pi Leng pass kills people every year. Almost always foreign self-riders in fog. Operators that pause the route in bad weather are protecting you, not wasting time.
