VNLocals is an independent project, built and maintained by one person. There are no ads, no popups, no "sign up to read more". If something here saved you money, kept you safer, or just helped you plan a better trip — you can tip.

We're setting up Ko-fi and Buy Me a Coffee. Until then, the best way to support is to share the site with anyone planning a Vietnam trip, or send us feedback via the contact form.

Free ways to help

  • Share a tour page or note with a friend planning Vietnam — the URL is the whole product.
  • Report a listing correction when you spot something wrong. The catalog only gets more honest with input.
  • Leave a review after you travel — it's the only real signal future travelers have.
  • Star the project on GitHub when we open-source the codebase (soon).

Where the money goes

Hosting (Vercel + Supabase free tiers cover us), the domain (~$15/year), and the occasional bus fare to actually verify an operator in Ha Giang or Sapa.

We'll publish a yearly transparency note if tips start covering more than hosting.
